Pure, high-toned red berry aromas and flavors with green peppercorn, spice and almond notes, surround a core of vivid acidity and moderate tannins. Similar in character to Barolo, but more delicate, this Barbaresco has great aging potential.
This is a great wine for roasts, large game such as wild boar and venison and game birds such as pheasant, quail and partridge.
2011 Vintage Scores:
“Scents of bright red berry, violet, rose, orange peel, leather and a balsamic note all mingle in the glass. The smooth, savory palate delivers ripe black cherry, black raspberry, freshly ground white pepper, cinnamon and licorice alongside firm but polished tannins. It’s nicely balanced and very refined. Drink 2016–2026.”
