Kármán wines is a new project from Bodegas Gómez Cruzado created to produce Garnacha wines from the Najerilla subregion of Rioja Alta. Grapes are sourced from along the Cárdenas river, from vineyard sites in the villages of Badarán, Cárdenas, Cordovín, and Cañas. Gómez Cruzado is run by the leadership team of Rioja-natives David González and Juan Antonio Leza, two young winemakers and viticulturists who share over a decade of experience as consultants for significant projects in different regions around the world. The Kármán Rioja is 88% Garnacha and 12% Tempranillo and made in a young, fresh style. It blends attractive red fruits and flowers with a nuanced and elegant rusticity for a long, thirst-quenching finish.
Staff Review:
“Wow. 88% Garnacha, 12% Tempranillo. 100% Tasty. Balanced on the body (not too bold, not light – well structured), this totes lovely tannins, peppery red berry notes, & good acidity. Affordable & perfect wine for any dish – I love mine with empanadas!”
“88% Garnacha. 12% Tempranillo. Had as much fun tasting this as the two guys on the front. Vibrant red berry flavors dance around with a fresh finish. Very smooth too! A simple cheese plate with friends is all you will need to enjoy this red.”
