Gessami is made by Gramona, a small, family owned winery in Penedes that makes some of Spain’s top Cava. Almost every top restaurant in Spain has a Cava from Gramona on the list. This still wine, which is a blend of Moscatel, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurtzraminer, is outstanding. Great aromatic nose that has notes of stone fruit and floral peach, with a strong mineral undercurrent. At once generous and steely, with very good breadth to its pit and tropical fruit flavors. Also floral note of jasmine and a hint of ginger as well. Zesty lemon peel and mineral notes add energy to the slightly edgy finish. Delicious.
