Peter Sisseck is the man behind the famed (and famously pricey), Pingus and Flor de Pingus. Now he’s finally making a full bodied, rich Ribera del Duero for the rest of us. We had this while visiting Madrid in May and were so impressed that we ordered a case immediately so we could have some when we returned. Burgundian weight on the palate, with notes of Asian spice, dried violets, iron, graphite, and smoke, enveloped with blackberries and blueberries. Blend: 95% Tempranillo, 5% Garnacha
2012 Vintage Scores:
“A dense and silky red with blueberry, cherry and stone. Limestone, chalky mouthfeel. Full and chewy. Very long and beautiful. Great potential.
