Winemaker Jean-Luc Hubert is a small Bordeaux producer for whom history, the life of the vineyard, and the estate are vital ingredients in the wine. This is a remarkable red from the Côtes du Bourg area, located opposite Margaux across the Gironde River.
Chateau la Grolet in the Ctes de Bourg, however, is no newcomer. The Hubert family has been farming biodynamically since 2000. This wine a blend of 70 percent merlot and 30 percent cabernet sauvignon is plummy, spicy, herbal and elegant in the best Bordeaux tradition.
